Cary Ritzler is the Climate Advocacy Manager for the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy and a founding member of the 100% Athens Clean and Renewable Energy Initiative. Cary was born in the North Georgia mountains and now lives in Athens, Georgia. She taught elementary school for several years before becoming involved in climate and energy justice advocacy. In 2023, Cary earned a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Georgia. She works locally and around the Southeast to advance a just and equitable transition to clean and renewable energy.
